House in Perthshire, Scotland October 2019
Beautiful house, beautiful setting, beautiful sunshine! As with all my paintings involving architecture and it's related surroundings, it is so important to work in situ to achieve accurate perspective. I try to absorb and record to memory the beauty and energy of the view in front of me and at this particular location, the incredibly stunning flora & tree variety that envelop the property. The hard work then began back in my studio to really bring this piece to life with rich colour and tonal values, plus... a signature quirk specially requested. The painting is now complete and dispatched but as often happens, I became quite attached to it. |
